Im Sommer setzt sich unser Künstler*innenaustausch-Zyklus fort: am 28. und 29. Juni findet der < 12. ARTIST TALK – Künstlerische Positionen im Dialog > statt.
Einmal im Monat treffen sich im internationalen Kulturzentrum Ulme35 Künstler*innen bzw. Künstlerkollektive aus Deutschland mit Künstlerkolleg*innen, die kürzlich nach Berlin gekommen sind. In einer lockeren Gesprächsrunde am Freitagabend im Salon der Ulme35 erzählen sie über ihre künstlerische Tätigkeit, ihrer Herkunft, ihr Arbeitsumfeld. Am Samstag Nachmittag findet ein gemeinsamer partizipativer Workshop statt, in dem die Gastkünstler*innen und interessierte Teilnehmer*innen sich in einem neuen experimentellen Dialogfeld begegnen: sie erarbeiten gemeinsam ein künstlerisches Format – ein kollektives Bild, eine performative Darstellung, ein Manifest, einen Film… Die Formate sind nicht vorgegeben, jedes mal lassen wir uns von den Künstler*innen überraschen.
Zur 12. Ausgabe des < ARTIST TALK – künstlerische Positionen im Dialog > sind zwei Gastkünstler eingeladen: Der in Bamako, Mali geborene autodidaktischer Maler und zur Zeit Stipendiat in Berlin, Adama Keita und Harald Gnade, in Prisser geboren und langjährig in Berlin arbeitender Künstler. Keita’s grossformatige Bilder sind intiuitiv, expressiv und doch handeln sie über eigene Lebenswege, mit sehr persönlich ikonografischen, ja fast plakativen Abstraktionen. Gnade beschäftigt sich mit der Frage des allgemein vorherrschenden Naturbegriffs: Ist Natur in der Regel das, was nicht vom Menschen geschaffen wurde? Biomorphe, stofflich betonte, oftmals monochrome Farbkörper oder Landschaftsfragmente, erinnern sinnbildhaft, minimalistisch oder topografisch an Vegetation, Moos, Schwamm.

In sommertime our artist exchange cycle continues: The 12th < ARTIST TALK – artistical positions in dialogue > will take place on 31th of Mai and 1th of June. On each month, artists or artist collectives from Germany will meet with fellow artists who recently arrived in Berlin, at the international cultural centre Ulme35 (Ulme 35 – Raum für Kunst, Kultur & Begegnung). During an informal talk in the salon of the Ulme35 on Friday evening, they will present their artistic work, their background and their work environment. In a workshop on Saturday afternoon the invited artists will meet the attendees in a new experimental dialogue field. Together they will develop an artistic format, a joint picture, a performance, a manifesto, a film… The formats will not be pre-defined; we want the artists to surprise us on each occasion.
For the 12th edition of < ARTIST TALK – artistic positions in dialogue >, we invited two guest artists: The autodidactic painter Adama Keita born in Bamako Mali and currently scholarship holder in Berlin, and Harald Gnade, born in Prisser and artist working in Berlin for many years. The large-format pictures from Keita are intimate, expressive and they deal with his own live, with very personal iconographic, almost striking abstractions. Gnade deals with the question of the prevailing concept of nature: Is nature, as a rule, what was not created by man? Biomorphic, materiallity, often monochrome color or landscape fragments, reminiscent of vegetation, moss, sponge… symbolically, minimalistically or topographically.
