On June 29th/30th the 6th artist exchange “ARTIST TALK – artistical positions in dialogue” will take place. It marks an end to the first series of talks, which hopefully will be continued in September (subject to funding). On every 4th weekend of each month, artists or artist collectives from Germany will meet with fellow artists who recently arrived in Berlin, at the international cultural centre Ulme35 (Ulme 35 – Raum für Kunst, Kultur & Begegnung). During an informal talk in the salon of the Ulme35 on Friday evening, they will talk about their artistic work, their background and their work environment. In a workshop on Saturday afternoon the invited artists will meet the attendees in a new experimental dialogue field. Together they will develop an artistic format, a joint picture, a performance, a manifesto, a film… The formats will not be pre-defined; we want the artists to surprise us on each occasion.

At the 6th ARTIST TALK the curator ot the series will be presenting her own work. Born in Peru with Hungarian roots, Carolina Kecskemethy will meet the Syrian artist Abdulrazzek Shaballout who is living and working in Berlin since several years. Both artists are deeply connected to their academic education in painting which is very pronounced in their specific cultural contexts. However, they differ in an exciting way by using their skilful figurative depictions in their art themes: Abdulrazzek Shaballout focusses on detailed hyperrealism as an inspiring spiritual experiment. Carolina Kecskemethy involves her naturalistic representations in conceptually poetic narrative installations.
